-The Cristo Rei Viewpoint owes its name to the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus built on this spot. It is an imposing sculpture of Jesus Christ, with open arms, facing the ocean. It was financed and commissioned by counsellor Aires de Ornelas, son of the last majorat of Caniço.

-Santa Cruz Village, beautiful village, where there is a traditional market with various fish dishes and local fruits, an old traditional Portuguese church, a good promenade with a wonderful coastline with sea views and watching the planes pass over the village

 specific day weekends to visit the village as the local people stage their market stalls along the main and a surprising assortment of food and other goods can be acquired very cheaply. Have nice huge garden with free entrace.

 -Machico (Pico Do Facho) ,which looks as if a balcony overlooking the sea and the mountains,and old capital ,machico was landed when Madeira was discovered in the year 1419.
